Summary: As of January 1, 2011, Learning Point officially became a part of the American Institues for Research. Our focus remains on making the education system work for everyone and we tackle the most problematic issues in education by combining research, evaluation, and hands-on support to influence policy and make a lasting impact. As a Researcher, My work focuses on conducting high-quality research and evaluations, and providing useful and informative results to clients and the education community at large. My experience includes a number of projects focused on technology integration and online learning, including a state-wide formative and summative assessment of the implementation and impacts of Vermont’s Enhancing Education Through Technology program and working with VHS to improve its current system for Teacher Information System through which it characterizes, tracks, and evaluates teachers and their performance. I am also currently participating in the evaluation of a National Science Foundation Informal Science Education Grant–funded after-school program seeking to engage students in cryptography and related mathematics, a pilot study to evaluate the feasibility of developing a pay-for-performance system that provides incentives to Supplemental Educational Services (SES) providers within the state of Texas to improve student achievement, and the evaluation of supplemental educational services providers throughout the state of Kentucky. Additionally, I serves as a policy analyst and state liaison to the state of Wisconsin for REL Midwest.
